DC Swing!
|
|
DC Swing! - We will be playing our first ever Pride Festival in DC on June 9th. Look for us at the Arts Stage at around noon. After that, we will be taking a summer break and start back to rehearsing on July 16th. We will be learning a lot of new music for our busy Fall season. DC Swing is still in need of musicians. We need at least one trumpet player and a piano player, as well as fill-ins on all other parts (trombones, saxes). If you think you would be interested in joining us please e-mail our director Chris Raitzyk at cmrchris@aol.com

D.C.'s Different Drummers Symphonic Band finished it's spring session with a great concert performance at St. Margaret's Church on April 6, 2002. With a near capacity audience, the concert was a great success. Special thanks goes to all the production personnel, musicians, and most importantly, our valued audience. Thank you!
Mark your calendars! Our fall session will kick-off on Monday, August 19, 2002 at MCC-DC at 7 PM. It is never too early to start thinking about playing with us in the fall!

Instrument: Twirler
Current City: Baltimore, MD
Started In DCDD:
I joined DCDD in 1986 and was president in 1988 and 1989 and served on the Marching committee. I have always loved being in DCDD. The people are some of my best friends. They welcomed me, when my band, Charm City Brigade, broke-up. The thing that I have always loved about DCDD is the orginization is one of true integrity. They treat people with dignity and respect. I've enjoyed the crowds and the parades but I have truely loved getting to know members of the band. It's nice to see an group of people who although diverse, have truely come together through music. I respect the quality of music that the band produces. I have enjoyed watching the band grow and stretch musically over the years. It is indeed my joy to know each of you and consider you all my family.
