Join DCDD's Symphonic Band for our "Around the World With 80 Gays" Concert
The Symphonic Band will be presenting its spring concert "Around the World With 80 Gays" on April 2 and 3rd at the Church of the Epiphany at 1317 G Street NW, near Metro Center at 8 p.m. Featured on the program is exciting and varied music from five continents. Highlights include the fiery "Danza Final" from Argentina, the majestic "Great Gate of Kiev" from Russia, the elegant "Concertino" from France featuring DCDD's flute section leader, Jim Turner, as well as music from Scotland, Armenia, Korea and Africa. The concert will also include an audience sing-a-long to music from Rodgers and Hammerstein's "South Pacific."

DCDD's Symphonic Band is comprised of nearly 70 volunteer musicians from the DC area. The Band plays classic and contemporary works for full band. The Washington Post called a recent concert by the band a "sweeping performance& that was pleading and warm, emotionally tempestuous and filled with sonic experimentation."

Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the door. Tickets may be purchased from band members or at www.dcdd.org.
