Symphonic Band

The passing of another concert season has ended in a triumphant concert at the Church of the Epiphany on April 2 and 3. Audience members enjoyed a mix of music that was grandiose, lively, and endearing. The band now prepares for its performance with the Fete de Musique. This annual music festival hosted by the City of Washington will feature hundreds of performers in venues throughout the city. DCDD will participate the weekend of June 19. Stay tuned for updates.

Marching Band

Summer is coming up fast, and so is marching season. All instrumentalists are needed to perform this season for Pride parades in DC and Baltimore. This year, the marching band goes international for the first time, with a trip to Toronto. Marching season begins April 12 at Gateway Park in Rosslyn, near the Rosslyn Metro Station. Color Guard and Honor Guard

Join our premiere group of flag, rifle, and banner carriers as they march along parade routes to the backdrop of a marching band. This group participates in Pride parades in DC and Baltimore. This years trip to Toronto give an international flair to the guard as they participate in one of the largest Pride parades on the planet. Swing into Spring Dance

The DC Swing band sponsors its annual dance on April 17 at the Washington Plaza Hotel on Thomas Circle NW in DC. The band provides the music, and even a dance instructor for you to start dancing into the night. The party begins at 8:00pm with dance instruction starting at 7:30. Marching Band Volunteers needed
|
|
The marching band is in search of people to help out on parades. We need water carriers, and helpers to retrieve stray batons, and color guard equipment. A Marching band coordinator is also needed to help with rehearsals and performances. Responsibilities include attendance at rehearsals, assistance with equipment, and coordinating logistical issues.
