Message from the president
|
Happy New Year,
2007 was a great year for the band – we made lots of music. The highlight for most of us in CPSB was our Kennedy Center debut in June.
At this time I would like to acknowledge the efforts of the members of the DCDD Board of Directors. Chad Koratich has been an invaluable counsel as Vice President and continued to serve as chairman of the Membership Committee.
Dr. Keith Glaeske improved his service as Secretary and continued to chair our Production efforts for all the CPSB Concerts.
Wayne Warwick has done a phenomenal job as Treasurer and has done so much behind the scenes – working on brochures, promoting DC Swing!, marketing the band. As an Executive Committee I could not have asked for a better group to serve with.
I would like to thank other board members for their service - Sharon Marshall who is ending her two year term and Jeff Sturman who is stepping down from the board.
I thank Laura Harris who has served this past year on the Board and is our new Vice President.
I thank Jason Damaso and Michael Vreeland who continue their service on the Board for another year and have both stepped up to work on important projects.
Finally I'd like to acknowledge the tremendous contribution of our immediate past president – Stan Goff. After serving as President of the band for two years he has followed through on his commitment by serving a transitional year on the board. Stan has given so much of his blood, sweat, and tears to support this band that he truly calls his family.
The work of the band would not be accomplished without the work of this board and we have much work for the year ahead and we will need the help of band members to accomplish those goals.
Cheers!
David
