Lesbian and Gay Chorus of Washington D.C. Concert

Join the LGCW as they perform their winter concert "Do not Separate Yourself". D.C.'s Different Drummers will make a special appearance with the chorus to perform selected works which explore the LGCW's history and its relationship with its community and hometown. Concert dates are:
Saturday, February 1, 2003 at 8:00pm; Sunday, February 2, 2003 at 4:00pm. Concerts are held at the Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church, 4th and Independence, SE. Visit the LGCW website at www.lgcw.org for more information.

DCDD Marching Band

Join D.C.’s Different Drummers Award Winning Marching Band! Rehearsals start April 21, 2003. Drum Major Auditions March 22, 2003, and the audition intent forms for Drum Majors are due by February 4. Topics of discussion: Music, parades, rehearsal location, Drum Major tryouts, color guard, uniforms &
equipment. How can you help the Marching Band? Volunteer as a Uniform Coordinator, and help distribute, repair, and dry clean uniforms. Also collects uniforms, maintains supply of
Marching Band t-shirts, and band aid t-shirts. If you play an instrument, spin a flag, have Drum Major experience, can twirl a
baton, carry our Nation’s colors, or are willing to distribute water during a
parade, then our Marching Band welcomes you and your friends!Marching band is a non-auditioned group. No experience necessary for the color guard unit. We’ll teach you everything you need to know. Requirements: $25 dues. Also, purchase of white pants, white shoes and a $12 DCDD MB T-Shirt. Rehearsals until further notice are held at the Pentagon North parking lot starting at 7pm. If we travel out of the state, you will need to cover a portion of your bus and/or airfare. There are contingencies for anyone unable to cover one or more of these financial obligations.

December 1st Project
|

DCDD's Symphonic Band in conjuction with the Lesbian and Gay Chorus of Washington are commissioning a full length concert work by renowned composer Robert Maggio. This original work is inspired by the AIDS Memorial Quilt.
