D.C.’s Different Drummers is a very active organization. Our multiple ensembles perform multiple engagements throughout the National Capital Region all through the calendar year. These activates require a lot of expenses, including rehearsal space, instrument rental and repair, advertising, insurance, and traveling expenses, to name but a few. Support from our community partners and donors is essential to the continued operation and growth of our organization.

D.C.’s Different Drummers is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. There are numerous options available interested patrons can support our organization. Your support empowers all members of our musical community to perform with PRIDE! We thank you for your generous contribution. See you at a performance soon!

 

Ames-Whitebeck Good Fairy Fund

Our organization seeks to insure that money does not keep anyone from participating in the D.C.’s Different Drummers’ performances and community activities. Contributors may designate donations be made to the D.C.’s Different Drummers’ Ames-Whitebeck Good Fairy Fund for this purpose. Named for two former members that dedicated many years of service to our organization, this fund allows members of limited means to participate in our organization. Qualifying members may request funds to assist with their obligations on membership dues, uniforms, traveling for performances, and other expenditures.  Participating members are obligated to make up their benefiting from the Good Fairy Fund via the performance of service hours to benefit the D.C.’s Different Drummers. Cash Donations

D.C.’s Different Drummers welcomes one-time or multiple tax-deductible cash donations from our generous patrons.  These donations will go towards the D.C.’s Different Drummers general operating fund. This fund supports all DCDD musical groups and supplements our revenue from ticket sales and membership dues.  Donors will be recognized in our programs and other D.C.’s Different Drummers literature with the following designations:

 

  • Friends of DCDD: $100-249
  • Drummer’s Circle: $250-499
  • Conductor’s Circle: $500-999
  • Founder’s Circle: $1,000 & greater

 

Jon Sims Endowment Fund for the Performing Arts (JSEF)

D.C.’s Different Drummers is a proud participant in the Jon Sims Endowment Fund. For more information on donating to our endowment, please contact the D.C.’s Different Drummers development team.

 

Combined Federal Campaign

D.C.’s Different Drummers are proud participants in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), the workplace-giving program of the U.S. Federal Government. Our CFC number is 93755.  The donation period generally goes each year from November 15th to the end of the calendar year. Brother, Help Thyself

For more than 30 years, Brother, Help Thyself has supported D.C.’s Different Drummers’ mission through grants utilized in the purchase of instruments, uniforms, and equipment, support to those members of DCDD who needed financial assistance, and providing free-admission benefit concerts supporting Washington, DC-area HIV/AIDS organizations.  We are grateful for their support & look forward to a continued, long-lasting relationship.
